Here is a list of liquids you can consume in preparation for a colonoscopy:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Broth \u2013 chicken, beef or vegetable<\/li><li>Jell-O \u2013 No red or purple dyes<\/li><li>Popsicles \u2013 No red or purple dyes<\/li><li>Fruit juices \u2013 No orange juice, grapefruit juice or V8<\/li><li>Coffee without creamer, but you can add Vanilla Boost<\/li><li>Tea \u2013 hot or cold<\/li><li>Soft drinks \u2013 Sprite, Coke, Diet Coke, Mountain Dew; no red or purple dyes<\/li><li>Gatorade \u2013 No red or purple dyes<\/li><li>Any clear drinks \u2013 water, lemonade, etc.<\/li><li>Boost (up to six cans) chocolate or vanilla only on the day before your procedure only; no Boost Plus.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Do not consume foods or drinks with red or purple dyes, dairy products or acidic juices on the day before or day of your colonoscopy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Follow the <a href=\"https:\/\/nortonhealthcare.com\/services-and-conditions\/gastroenterology\/treatment\/colonoscopy\/how-to-prepare\/\">instructions for bowel cleansing<\/a> with your prescription.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you experience problems such as nausea and vomiting with your prep, call our physician at <a href=\"tel:+15028964711\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(502) 896-4711<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Do not eat solid food on prep day (the entire day before your procedure).<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will receive specific instructions on how to clean your bowel before your procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Related:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/nortonhealthcare.com\/news\/how-to-make-colonoscopy-prep-easier\/\">How to make colonoscopy prep easier<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your prep and following a liquid diet for your colonoscopy is the most important part of the procedure.
