But since heart failure doesn\u2019t always have symptoms such as congestion \u2014 fluid retention \u2014 the term \u201cheart failure\u201d is used to refer to the broad condition when your heart muscle doesn&#8217;t pump blood as well as it should.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Congestive heart failure results from blood backing up in the veins as the heart struggles to pump blood out to the body.
