The Adult Comprehensive Sickle Cell Program at Norton Cancer Institute is designed to serve your unique medical needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our goal is to provide outstanding medical care for all aspects of sickle cell disease. We seek to prevent a sickle cell crisis, care for a crisis if it occurs and manage long-term effects of the disease. We work with you to tailor a program specific to your needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our program includes education, expanding access to care teams, enhancing the care available to you and improving coordination of your care. We strive to decrease unnecessary emergency visits and admissions, minimize time in the hospital and improve your overall well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our caregivers include physicians specialized in hematology, advanced practice providers, nurses, infusion center teams, a licensed clinical social worker, dietitians, pain management specialists, behavioral health specialists, a chaplain and others. Expect to share in the decision-making of your care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Your care journey requires more than directed medical care. It must include spiritual care, social services, alternative therapies, behavioral health services and other supportive care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The specialty-certified nurses at the Norton Infusion Centers work together to provide individualized care based on your specific needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daily after 4:30 p.m. and on weekends or holidays, call your provider at the office number listed. An answering service will contact your provider or the provider on call. Please limit these calls to emergencies. Call during regular office hours for non-emergency questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
