Women with early stage gynecologic cancer often undergo a hysterectomy \u2014 surgical removal of the uterus. Sometimes the surgeon also will remove the ovaries, fallopian tubes and\/or some lymph nodes during the procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are different types of hysterectomy procedures, depending on your medical history and health, as well as the extent of cancer growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hysterectomy can be performed through the vagina or abdomen.
