But arm discomfort also can be part of a heart attack \u2014 especially when it appears with chest pressure, shortness of breath, nausea, sweating, jaw or back pain, or a sudden sense that something is seriously wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-what-left-arm-pain-may-feel-like-during-a-heart-attack\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">What left arm pain may feel like during a heart attack<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">People often expect \u201ccrushing chest pain,\u201d but heart attack symptoms can vary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In some men, discomfort may start in the chest or shoulder and <a href=\"https:\/\/nortonhealthcare.com\/news\/shoulder-jaw-and-neck-pain-signs-of-heart-attack\/\">radiate down the left arm or toward the jaw<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/nortonhealthcare.com\/news\/heart-attack-in-women\/\">Women are more likely than men to have subtler symptoms<\/a>, including pain in either arm, shoulder blades, upper back, jaw or abdomen; as well as nausea or unusual fatigue. Chest discomfort remains common in women, but it may be intermittent or less dramatic than people expect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-other-symptoms-that-make-left-arm-pain-more-concerning\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Other symptoms that make left arm pain more concerning<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Chest pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shortness of breath<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nausea or vomiting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cold sweat<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lightheadedness or fainting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jaw, neck, shoulder or upper-back pain<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sudden unexplained fatigue (more common in women)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe worry less about isolated arm soreness after lifting boxes than arm discomfort that arrives with chest pressure, shortness of breath, sweating, nausea, or jaw and back pain,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/providers.nortonhealthcare.com\/provider\/kent-e-morris\/485454\">Kent E.
